The SAH was founded in 1969, with over 900 members in 45 of the United States & more than 20 countries. The Leland Chapter one of 7 chapters, with local membership in Michigan and Canada. Many of the members are authors who have written about automotive history, as well as people who simply enjoy reading and researching it. Probably no other technological development has had as profound an effect on daily lives as the automobile.
Possible programs for future Leland Chapter meetings, please be advised that Tony Yanik hosted a presentation of his book MAXWELL MOTOR and the Making of the Chrysler Corporation on Feb. 24 at the Rochester Hills Pubic Library. Although I was unable to attend, I'm sure it was an informative event. Since Tony already has a presentation "in the can," perhaps we could have him reprise his lecture for the Leland Chapter.
ReplyDeleteNote also that the following individuals are preparing presentations for the SAE 2010 World Congress, as follows:
** COLE, The Standardized Car-- Looking for the Best Parts by Leroy Cole;
** The Development and Evolution of Motor Fire Apparatus in America, 1906-1970 by Walt McCall.
I also understand that Jim Wagner has one or two truck marque presentations that we might enjoy seeing.
Best,
JEFF
